THE WOODLAND CEMETERY NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Woodland Cemetery is a not-for-profit association. The Cemetery's only sources of income are burials and donations. The Cemetery is desperately in need of funds, equipment and volunteers to assist us with restoration efforts. No board members receive any compensation.
How can you help? In addition to financial support, the Cemetery needs:
1. Volunteers to clean plots, plant flowers and weed gardens;
2. Tree professionals or individuals who can prune and/or remove trees and chip tree branches;
3. Volunteers to help resurvey gravesites so Cemetery maps can be updated; and
4. Landscaping professionals or individuals who have access to heavy duty mowing equipment and/or weed-whackers to create access to the Children's Burial Section, the Common Burial Ground and the gravesites in the rear of the Cemetery.
We really encourage you to volunteer at the Cemetery. There is plenty of clean-up, pruning and raking that needs to be done. The best of part of volunteering is that you do so at your leisure -- pick two or three plots and clean them, at your convenience! Every little bit helps -- and the more plots that are cleaned, the better the Cemetery looks.
